Mrs. Thomas

Mrs. Thomas has loved books for as long as she remembers.   Growing up, she took frequent trips to the library with her Mom to choose a stack of books and loved curling up on the couch to read with her Dad.  As she grew older, Mrs. Thomas played library, arranging her book collections on her shelves... sometimes by size, but more often grouping them by type.  She also began to appreciate her family's Saturdays, when everyone would read listening to the radio.  Often one person or another would read a passage from their book that made them laugh or that they particularly liked, and Mrs. Thomas often convinced her Mom to read the same book so that they could talk about it together.  

 

It is this sense of a reading community that Mrs. Thomas strives to create in the Gayman library, by creating a space that a variety of reading and researching personalities (both voracious and hesitant) can enjoy and grow in.
