2026-2027 HSA Board Elections

President- Jessica Winn

Hi Mustang Families,

I’m excited (and truly honored) to step into the role of President of the Gayman Home & School Association. Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to be involved in so many of the events, clubs, and behind-the-scenes efforts that make our school such a special place—and I’m incredibly grateful for this community.

As President, my goal is simple: to continue building strong connections between our families, staff, and students while supporting the programs and experiences that make Gayman so memorable for our kids. We have an amazing group of volunteers and board members, and I’m looking forward to working together to keep that momentum going.

Thank you for your continued support of GHSA. I’m excited for what’s ahead!

Jess

VP of Community- Devon Summersgill

After a rewarding year serving on the HSA board, I would be grateful for the opportunity to continue my involvement in the role of VP of School Community, helping to further strengthen the connections that make Gayman such a special place. This past year, I have had the privilege of serving as VP of School Enrichment, working closely with our specialty teachers to support their programs and advocate for additional resources. That experience has given me valuable insight into the needs of both our staff and students, and reinforced how important strong communication and collaboration are within our school community.

As a parent of three daughters— a Gayman third grader and sixth grader, as well as an eighth-grade alumna—I bring both a current and long-term perspective. Over the years, I have been actively involved as a homeroom parent, served on a variety of committees, and co-chaired the Book Fair and VIP & Me Dance. These roles have allowed me to build meaningful relationships with fellow parents while organizing engaging, successful events.

Beyond Gayman, I served for many years on the parent board of my daughter’s cooperative preschool and am an active member of the National Charity League, where I currently serve as a grade-level advisor for my eighth-grade daughter’s class. These experiences have strengthened my leadership, organization, and volunteer coordination skills.

If given the opportunity to serve as VP of School Community, I would focus on clear, consistent communication, strong support for our homeroom parents, and creating meaningful opportunities for families to connect. I care deeply about fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment where every family feels informed, involved, and valued. Thank you for your time and consideration—I would be honored to continue serving our school community in this role.

VP of Communications- Jen Conicello

My name is Jen Conicello, and I am excited to be considered for the Vice President of Communications position on the Home & School Association executive board. As a parent to two current Gayman students, Will (6th grade) and Sammy (3rd grade), and with our youngest, Evelyn, looking forward to joining the Gayman community in a couple of years, my family and I are deeply rooted here. I’ve enjoyed volunteering for class parties, field trips, 6th grade club events, and serving on the 6th grade promotion committee this year, and I look forward to becoming more involved in the years ahead.

In my professional role in Corporate HR, I spend much of my time focused on communication and making sure the right information reaches the right people in a way that’s clear, thoughtful, and easy to navigate. I know how busy life can be for families, and how important it is to have communication that’s timely, straightforward, and accessible.

If selected for this role, my goal will be to help ensure families have the information they need, when they need it, while also reflecting the warmth, energy, and strong sense of community that makes Gayman so special. I would be grateful for the opportunity to contribute and support both our families and our school in this way

VP of Finance- Amelia Davitt

My name is Amelia Davitt and I am honored to be nominated for the GHSA Executive Board position of VP of Finances for the 2026-2027 school year.  My two children, Eddie and Leah, are currently in third grade at Gayman.  I am so happy to be a part of the amazing school community we have here!

I am currently serving as VP of Communications in my first year on the board and it has allowed me to understand the collaboration, planning, and energy needed to organize and execute all the wonderful events that GHSA has.  I have gained firsthand knowledge of the necessary communication and coordination between the school and families.  I have also had the pleasure of serving on many event committees including co-chairing the Fall Festival and VIP & Me Dance.  All of this has led to many positive friendships and relationships with other parents and with school staff.

My experience on the board has given me a better understanding of the behind the scenes work that the GHSA does, with a large part of that being finances and budget.  I know what is necessary in the VP of Finances role and I possess the organizational and detail-oriented skills needed.  You can be confident that I will prioritize transparency and communication as I believe they are extremely important in this role.  Along with being a mom, I am a retired police officer.  I believe my 20 year career in the New York City Police Department is not only a testament to my desire to be of service to my community, but to my integrity, reliability, and trustworthiness.   These qualities will serve me well in effectively fulfilling this position.

I am so thankful for being able to be a part of the Gayman school community.  It truly is one of a kind!  I will continue to work to make sure that all students, as well as teachers, staff, and parents have the best elementary school experience.   I would be honored to be the next VP of Finances.  Thank you for considering me.

VP of School Enrichment-Cassie Mastriana

My name is Cassie Mastriana, and I am honored to be nominated for the GHSA Executive Board position of Vice President of School Enrichment for the 2026-2027 school year. I have three children at Gayman: Barron (3rd grade), Garrett (1st grade), and Ellison (kindergarten).

Throughout my time as a parent at Gayman, I have actively participated in various aspects of the GHSA. I have served on multiple committees, including fall fest, dance, end-of-year party, Bingo, and Teacher Appreciation Week. Currently, I am co-chairing Bingo and Teacher Appreciation Week. Additionally, I have been a home room parent for the past three years. My involvement in these various aspects of GHSA has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s operations and fostered genuine relationships with the staff and families. This experience will enable me to seamlessly transition into the executive board.

While my primary role is as a mother, I also serve as a Captain for United Airlines. When I am not at home, I can be found flying back and forth, usually to Florida. I have been a pilot in the airline industry for over two decades. My experience as a pilot has honed my problem-solving, leadership, and collaborative skills, as well as my ability to work effectively with diverse individuals to achieve common goals. Furthermore, I possess strong communication and organizational skills that are essential for fulfilling this position.

I am deeply grateful to be a part of the Gayman community. I am committed to ensuring that our students have an exceptional educational experience, as well as providing our teachers and staff with the support and resources they need to thrive. I would be honored to receive your vote for Vice President of School Enrichment. I am confident that I am well-suited for this role and will contribute positively to the GHSA.

Thank you!

Cassie Mastriana

VP of Fundraising- Nikki Murphy

Thank you for considering me for the Vice President of Fundraising role. I’m grateful for the opportunity to support our school community in a meaningful way.

While this position may look primarily financial on paper, I see it as the quiet, essential work that helps bring our school’s most joyful experiences to life. Fundraising is, at its heart, a community story: families contributing in small and big ways, volunteers offering their time, and staff dreaming up opportunities that enrich our children’s days. I hope to help weave those pieces together with care, transparency, and a spirit of collaboration.

With many years ahead in this school community, I’m committed to building fundraising efforts that feel welcoming, organized, and purposeful — the kind that not only support our programs, but strengthen the connections between the families who make this place so special. I look forward to partnering with our committee chairs, supporting the Vice President of Finance, and helping ensure that every event and initiative is handled with both clarity and heart.

It would be a privilege to serve in this role and help nurture the programs and experiences that shape our children’s school days in such meaningful ways.

With gratitude,

Nikki Murphy
